Writing an about page is no easy feat and I’ve lost practice – I haven’t done one from scratch in more than 10 years. I’d like to answer three main questions: who am I, what can you find here and what’s the story of my blog.
I am a marketing specialist with 10+ years of digital experience
I like to think of myself as a marketing and communications specialist because “expert” sounds too cocky. It points to the fine balance between maximizing business results and building a true connection with users and the public. My education got me firmly rooted in communication and public relations.
This helped me consider the broader marketing function as more than pushing product. And then I wondered into the digital world. I fell madly in love with the power (and responsibility) of leading two-way meaningful communication with your audience.
Currently, I feel I am defined by 3 main things:
- My long-standing passion for writing and connecting with others.
- My love for data and my belief that proper measurement can help with most questions.
- My strive for learning and natural curiosity towards technology.
I help ambitious learners get better at growing marketing and building meaningful communications.
The most scalable way of going about it is pushing a consistent stream of quality content. I’ll share both my personal learnings and the things that have helped me progress.
There are other ways of disseminating knowledge I enjoy just as much:
- I have already worked with more than 500 students, teaching courses on Content marketing, Analytics and measurement, and Gamification.
- I speak at marketing and tech events. The topics range from personal branding through influencer outreach to productivity hacks.
Truth be told, these are just variations of the same goal. I strive to share what I have learned and maximize the value I bring into the world.
I aspire to connect with like-minded people around the world.
This is not a new gig for me. I have authored a blog about marketing since 2007. It was among the top 20 blogs overall and the second top marketing blog. I have netted about 200,000 readers in the last 5 years.
But this blog was written in Bulgarian and, as you may know (but probably don’t, which further proves my point), the language is spoken by less than 7 million people. It’s a small audience even if every single one of those people is interested in marketing and digital growth.
This is why, shortly after my blog’s 10th anniversary and just before my own 30th birthday, I took the only logical decision. Starting a new blog in English.
English gives me access to a wider audience and helps expand my horizon with different viewpoints. I’m excited to hear your thoughts on the world of marketing and digital growth. Why don’t you share them in the comments of the latest blog post?
