Hi, I’m Vassy.
I help B2B brands get clear on what they stand for, and carry it through everything they publish.
Most marketing drifts into guesswork, usually because the brand was never quite clear to begin with. I do the hands-on work to fix that across positioning, messaging, and content marketing, then leave your team able to run it without me. This is where I share most of what I’ve learned along the way, for free.

The belief under all of it
Across 20 years and a lot of different companies, I kept meeting the same subversive problem. A business that wasn’t sure what it stood for, or couldn’t say it cleanly, or couldn’t get it to show up consistently in the actual marketing work. So everyone started guessing. More posts, a newer channel, another redesign. Plenty of activity, none of it pointing the same way. In my mind, it goes by the name marketing by guesswork.
The way out is less exciting than a new “marketing hack,” and it works far better. Get genuinely clear on what you stand for and why it matters to the people who count. Make it consistent, so the whole company says the same true thing. Then carry it through your content, so it reaches the market instead of sitting in a deck nobody opens.
Clear, consistent, carried through your content.
That’s the spine of everything I do.
What I do, and how we can work together
Most of my work lives in three places. You can take one, or combine them.
Want to book an intro call? We can do that!
Positioning and Messaging
Get clear on what you stand for and why it matters, in your customers’ own words.
Content Marketing
Turn that clarity into content built on a point of view only you can own, so you stop doing random acts of content.
Marketing Ops and AI
Tighten how your content gets made, and add on-brand AI where it actually earns its place.
How the work actually goes
Whatever the focus, the first few weeks look the same: customer research, and getting you clear on what you stand for, before we build any content on top of it. From there, it comes down to how hands-on you want me to be.

I do it for you, or with you.
Senior project work, a full build or a leaner sprint.

Building your own personal brand rather than a company’s? Same approach, lighter weight. That’s the Personal Brand Sprint.

Prefer to learn it yourself?
I have a passion for sharing what I know. If you’d rather build the skill on your own time, I’ve packed years of this into two self-paced courses.
Strategic Content & Messaging
The full method I use on client work: audience research, positioning, messaging, content, and how to prove it worked.
The Personal Branding Blueprint
A four-week, hands-on process to get seen for the expert you already are, even if self-promotion makes you squirm.
A bit about me
I’m a science geek and a compulsive reader, happiest when I’m untangling something complicated until it clicks. I got into marketing in 2006, in-house first, then deep into SaaS, and I’ve done the hands-on work myself ever since.
I care more about whether real people understand and trust you than whether a feed approves of you this week. And I can’t seem to keep what I learn to myself, which is most of why I teach, write, and share as much as I do.
There’s more of the story, including the half-marathons, the wine certification, and the ginger cat who supervises all of it, on the about page.

I’m also a huge fan of old-timey marketing and ads, and many examples from that era make it into my newsletter.
Most of what I know, I give away
The easiest way to keep this thinking close is my newsletter, Marketing Matters. Every Friday I take one idea that actually matters and think it all the way through, so you come away with a sharper way of looking at your own marketing. I read around 180 articles a week so you don’t have to, and pass on the handful worth your time.

I love sharing tried and tested
marketing advice
My blog is the place where I share actionable advice and in-depth tactics that can help you build up your knowledge and add new skills to your marketing stack. My content is as detailed and specific as possible, including templates and samples you can put to practice right off.
If any of this sounds like your kind of thing, let’s talk.
You don’t need a tidy brief or a budget ready to go. If you’re wrestling with what you stand for, or how to carry it through your content, book a quick intro call. Thirty minutes, no pitch, just two people comparing notes and seeing if we click.
